Does anyone know what state the hotel is in here as Thomas Cook have just called us 3 weeks before we travel and they are offering us to have our money back. People have written reviews about this however if its a few walls needing a lick of paint that's one thing but half the hotel being renovated is another,.
My wife looked at the reviews a little while ago and if you go back a few pages people are complaining about noise from heavy duty work, some have been moved if it was possible. What has Thomas Cook offered you as an alternative holiday, they are the ones letting you down. I would personally go back to Thomas Cook and ask them what alternatives they can give you.
I was once double booked by a TV travel shop and in the end offered a better holiday and money back. Hotel is in the middle of a refurbishment and re-alignment in the market place It's not Thomas Cooks fault the hotel is refurbing, but they may be able to offer an alternative at no extra cost.
I would ask them politely. It will depend if there are any acceptable alternatives available within the same rating of accommodation. If the hotel you want to go to is an upgrade, they will expect you to pay the difference. The holiday is booked through a Thomas Cook package so they would be the one responsible, yes ask politely but a company should offer you an alternative holiday. If it's a Thomas Cook package, as opposed to any package booked via a TC agent, Thomas Cook Tour Operations are responsible as regards to resolving it , but they haven't let the clients down.
The hotel have done that. Under certain circumstances, they do need to offer a no charge transfer to a comparable standard of accommodation, if there are any that are acceptable. Other than that, it's changing accommodation, possibly with no admin fees, but paying or receiving any difference, or it's a refund. BeachBoyz, you need to speak to TC and ask them to advise exactly what options are available to you.
